Timing could not be better for a program titled “Hidden in Plain Sight: Shermerville Then — Northbrook Now” scheduled Sunday, Jan. 8, at the Northbrook Public Library, 1201 Cedar Lane. That is because the program will take place exactly 100 years after Shermerville voted to change its name to Northbrook on Jan. 8, 1923.
