The Northbrook History Museum is located in the three-story Northfield Inn at 1776 Walters Avenue, Northbrook, Illinois.

The Museum is open every Sunday 2pm to 4pm, except on national holidays. The Museum is also open by appointment. Call 847-498-3404 for an appointment.

The Museum is handicapped accessible on the lower two floors. The lower level contains a large meeting room decorated with the Schinleber Photograph Collection and other permanent exhibits. The museum contains rotating exhibits on the main floor.

The top floor is a re-created 1890-1910 Shermerville home. The home has a parlor, sewing room, kitchen, dining room, child’s room, bathroom and bedroom. Each room is authentically decorated and furnished with period furniture, fixtures, clothing, toys and artifacts. A video tour of this Shermerville home will also be made available soon. Please stop in during our open hours and learn about Northbrook and its rich heritage!

The offices and archives of the Northbrook Historical Society are located in the Hope Union Heritage Center at 1812 Chapel Court, Northbrook. The archives are open on Thursday from 10am to 2pm or by appointment by calling the number above.
