The Northbrook History Museum, located in the three-story Northfield Inn, is handicapped accessible on the lower two floors. The lower level contains a large meeting room decorated with the Schinleber Photograph Collection and other permanent exhibits. The museum contains rotating exhibits on the main floor.
The top floor is a re-created 1890-1910 Shermerville home. The home has a parlor, sewing room, kitchen, dining room, child’s room, bathroom and bedroom. Each room is authentically decorated and furnished with period furniture, fixtures, clothing, toys and artifacts. A video tour of this Shermerville home is also available.
The Northbrook History Museum is open every Sunday 2pm to 4pm, except on national holidays (Also open by appointment.) Stop in and learn about Northbrook and its rich heritage!
