As stewards of village history, The Northbrook Historical Society is often responsible for providing historical tours. Our Walking Tours program feature tours of the downtown Northbrook business district and Shermer road, and west past the train tracks. We have extensive scripts and cue cards pertaining to the histories, the people, places, and businesses and more that once existed in those locations. We are available to provide these tours for groups, and for those curious about the history of the village, and even those just moving to town!
The Northbrook Chamber of Commerce during their Leadership Northbrook event provides a bus tour that encompasses a larger portion of Northbrook and thereby more of its history. Look for more bus tour opportunities in our annual calendar of events.
