Schinleber Room Dedication

On November 17th, the Northbrook Historical Society celebrated the Village’s 123rd birthday at an open house held at the museum. We also named the meeting room in honor of our first historian, Lee Schinleber. The plaque honoring him will read:

The Lee Schinleber Room
Named and dedicated in honor of Lee Schinleber, the Historical Society’s first historian. Lee took on that task with enthusiasm by acquiring and donating more than 1,400 photographs from early Shermerville/Northbrook families, and his collection of carefully researched, documented, recorded, and written histories. His legacy is what the Northbrook Historical Society will use for decades to continue his work.

It was a day filled with stories of growing up in Northbrook, old friends seeing each other for the first time in years, and new residents learning about what we do.
