The Northbrook History Museum is located in the former Northfield Inn at 1776 Walters Avenue, Northbrook, Illinois.
The museum is open every Sunday 2pm to 4pm, except on national holidays. The museum is also open by appointment by calling (847) 498-3404 to make arrangements.
The museum is handicapped accessible on the lower two floors. The lower level contains a large meeting room decorated with permanent exhibits. The main floor contains rotating exhibits.
The upper floor is a re-created 1890-1910 Shermerville home. The home has a parlor, a sewing room, a kitchen, a dining room, a child’s room, a bathroom and a bedroom. Each room is authentically decorated and furnished with period furniture, fixtures, clothing, toys and artifacts!
