Judy Hughes: Obituary & Services

With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Judith “Judy” Hughes (née Joslyn), 81, of Northbrook, Illinois. Judy passed away suddenly on December 27, 2025. Judy was the beloved wife of 63 years to Michael Hughes; loving mother of Robert Hughes, Patricia Smith (Kevin), and John Hughes (Brynn); cherished grandmother of Jake Hughes, Ian Smith, Lauren Hughes, Alexis Davis (Brian), and Caitlin Pettitt (Kirby); greatgrandmother to Jack and Emma Davis; dear sister of Amy Barnes (Ned), the late Susan Schoden (Wayne), the late Dr. John Conlin (Marianne), and the late Shelley Chaffin; beloved sister-in-law of Barbara Price (Louis); a fond aunt and cherished cousin to many.

Judy embodied selfless devotion, enriching the lives of her family, friends, and community through her unwavering generosity and compassion. Her love was profound, consistently expressed through thoughtful actions and heartfelt care for others. Judy leaves a legacy of love, kindness, and selfless service that will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Northbrook Covenant Church, 2737 Techny Road, Northbrook, IL. After the service a small reception will be held in the fellowship room. Burial, following the reception, will be private.
