Northbrook Community Commission: Flamingo Fridays Kickoff

Village Hall 1225 Cedar Ln., Northbrook, IL, United States

From 5 - 7pm come join us at the Flamingo Friday Kickoff event behind the Village Hall! There you’ll spend an evening enjoying music, food, and course – flamingos!

And on every Friday evening between Memorial Day and Labor Day anyone that wants to participate is invited host a flamingo party of their own in their neighborhood. These gatherings are the perfect opportunity for residents – both new and old – to make new friends, meet new people, or just reconnect with their neighbors.

The Northbrook Community Commission is excited to continue this unique Northbrook tradition that brings our neighborhoods together in a fun and inclusive way. Check out the info below to learn how to host your own Flamingo Friday party!

Shermer Stories

Village Green Park 1810 Walters Ave, Northbrook, IL

Every town has an Elm Street. Few towns have a Shermer Road, and that is where the Northbrook Historical Society will be from 7:00 to 9:00 pm with costumed living history performers telling short stories about Northbrook. So, if you are at the Village Green Park or enjoying dinner or an after dinner treat along the Shermer Road Business District, stop and enjoy the stories.

Shermer Stories will have no stage or set performance time — just friends having conversations with their neighbors telling stories about people and places of the past.
